Moose LOVES sticks and wood. He’s crazy for it. He’s the most unique dog we’ve ever met. Everything that can go wrong with Moose typically does. So, when something does goes south we just say, “It’s Moose – so of course that happened. “

One example of this is Moose broke his toenail. He went to the vet and put him on antibiotics. That didn’t work and the nail got infected so much so that they removed the nail. The infection persisted so they removed the toe at the knuckle, hence his unique “Yoda-looking” paw. During his several months recovery, Moose wouldn’t allow people to change his bandages and had to be sedated twice a week. It got so bad that he began to grow fungus on his foot. Thankfully we were able to get it all under control.

Moose loves to talk (not unlike his mom) and is ultra-sensitive. When he was 3, he was on a trail hike with a bunch of other dogs. He’s clumsy and ran into a female dog when he lost his footing on an embankment. She nipped his thigh. He didn’t get out of bed for 3 days. On day 2 I took him to the vet to see if I’d missed something – nope – he was just upset.
